Why is that they never talk about what it will actually take to stop the increasing the debt?
We
presently spend about double the incoming money (2 trillion collected- 4
trillion spent). That means we really need to cut 2 trillion from
JUST THIS YEARS SPENDING. Not over 10 years, not over 5 years. JUST
THIS YEAR. Just to balance this years spending vs what is this year's income.
That only stops the debt from increasing. It does nothing to reduce the 14 trillion or more on the credit card already. And you have to do it every year to make sure it doesn't start up again.
How anyone can try to make this out to be anything but a spending problem,,,,,, is absolutely clueless!!!!!!
Until we cut over half of what is spent, the crisis will continue.
There
is no revenue problem. In spite of a serious recession-depression,
the IRS is still collecting 2 trillion. Why can't we live on 2
trillion?
Or better yet 1 trillion. The other trillion could go to debt reduction. Even at this rate it would take at least 15 years to pay off the debt we have already.
The reality is that we have little money for anything but defense and debt reduction. You never hear this either. Forget about something like Social Security. Nobody really wants to do what it is really going to be necessary when there is no other choice. That sounds dire because it is.
