There are quite a few liberal myths that people today take as facts.   They have been repeated over and over so many times that many think they are the truth.   

However how many times does it have to be repeated to make it true?

Doesn't matter,  its still a myth.  And it still untrue.  



Some political myths.

Obama used one in his "energy" speech today.  The 2% oil reserves myth (as is, that the US only has 2% of the worlds oil reserves).   The idea with this myth is that even if you would drill for more oil here, it won't help the energy crisis much.   

Why they use this myth.

Liberals don't really want any energy development in the US.   That even includes their favored "energy sources" like wind and solar (solar panels and windmills are ugly and in my view at Cape Cod).   So forget about oil and nuclear (nuclear is no more popular with liberal lately then it was before, they will always hate it).  

The reality.   The oil companies have found huge amounts of oil in the US (and Canada as well) recently.   There are now known oil reserves that are larger then most of the Middle East reserves.   We simply need to drill for it.

The problem:   Will there be the political will on the part of rest of the US to actually end this energy embargo that the liberals have placed on US energy production?   I hope so, as we need the high paying jobs in the US that energy business provides.   Plus we will slow the the financing of the Islamic terror when we buy less oil from the middle east.   Oil is the only source of income for most of the Middle East,  cutting it defunds terrorists.  

SIde note Myth.   Peak OIl.  

This one is pure nonsense.   There are hundreds of years of conventual energy left.    We easily have four hundred year of coal alone.   There is far more oil then we ever thought.   Solar and WInd are niche energy sources that waste billions of tax payer dollars.    They will never be the main source of energy ever.   We just have to recover the energy.   It would really help end the current depression that seems to have no end.   

Myth 2 Global Warming (recently renamed Climate Change)

There are so many things wrong with "Global Warming" .    I have never seen any good info on if something like this could even happen.  It seems so highly doubtful.   That's why its so hard to fight it, because the target keeps changing when the "nightmares" don't happen.    They even have to change the name due to it being really cold the last couple of years.   It's telling that few weathermen (and women) on TV talk about global warming because most don't believe it either.  

They talk about conservatives having no science but I have seen no science at work here either.  

Global Warming is a scam on a such a huge scale it's unbelievable.  
 

Myth 3

Cutting or ending social programs will make people starve and force people onto the street. 

Like social programs are actually really helping people!

Of course ending social programs will not make people starve and make people homeless.   In fact returning social programs to private charity and organizations will help people better and at a lower cost (not just financial) to society.   That's the way it was done before, and it worked far better then government.   It was only taken from those groups to increase government power not to actually help people.   It should be returned to those groups. 

Helping people is in fact too important to be left to government.   We do a disservice  to people to throw them at the jaws of an uncaring government.    Government can never "care" about people, no matter how much the people who work there may care.    Many people in those government groups clearly don't care, and only want to protect their jobs at our expense. 

Myth 4 History is loaded with Liberal myths. 

My biggest is that Hitler was a man of the right.   Total nonsense.    The nazis were a socialist party, which can only be on the left.  There are no right wing socialists.    Yes, they and the communists didn't get along, but who cares?   They both had the same goals and mostly the same methods for getting there.    They both killed hundreds of millions.  The Nazis used rich people instead of killing therm.   That may be the biggest difference. 

Another liberal myth is that Democrats are the biggest supporter of civil rights.    They can't be more wrong.   A black person would have never been a Democrat in the decades after the civil war.   Blacks didn't vote for Democrats in large numbers until the 1930's.   Before that they didn't even want their votes.    The change is one of the best snow-jobs of the 20th century.  The Republicans wanted to do civil rights in the 1860's but the DEMOCRATS delayed it to the 1960's.   Even in the 1960's more Republicans voted for civil rights then Democrats.   Al Gore Sr voted against Civil RIghts.   So did JFK when he was in Congress.  Bull Conner was a Democrat.   The KKK was founded by Democrats.   Democrat Senator Byrd was a member of the KKK.    Martin Luther KIng was NEVER a Democrat.   Up until the 1950's Civil right leaders were never Democrats.     They couldn't be.
