Washington State Senator Patty Murray (D), today told abortion supporters that protecting medical professionals that
morally oppose Abortion is "short- sighted".
Scary, isn't it?
Frightening to be sure!
This is one of the untold stories today in America today. The
loss of conscience in the medical profession today.
In Illinois, impeached former Governor Blagojevich took away the right of conscience from every pharmacist in the state. It forces all pro-life pharmacists in Illinois to dispenses abortion aid, including the day after pill. No right of refusal, or even the referring to an another pharmacist. They must do it, or lose their licenses and jobs. Large pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS have done nothing to protect their pharmacists or protest this morally repugnant law.
Just wait until we have "universal" government "health" care. Just try to stop things like this then. At that point it will be nearly impossible. If we cannot stop this, it will be the future of "health" care.
If I was a liberal, I would say there was a "conspiracy" going on.
The
conspiracy against pro-life health care professionals. Pro-life health care professionals are the last line defense against abortion, euthanasia, the denial of care to the chronically ill, the mentally and physical disabled, the undereducated and the old. No secular medical professional organization is opposing the lack of conscience. None of these organizations promote right of conscience policies. Those organizations have been taken by these liberal activists and in many cases have a pro-choice position to boot. The AMA will do nothing to end discrimination against pro-life doctors, they will side against their own members in every case and offer no support to them.
If they can force every pro-life health care professional out of medicine, the goals of these people will be far easier to do. Coupled with "universal" government health care it will quickly become the way of death for everyone. We will be no better then the Nazis. What will happen when there are no longer any pro-life Catholic hospitals?
Don't believe me? If things like Illinois' lack of right of conscience for pharmacists become the way of providing medical care for everyone it will be to late. That anti- life doctor will think nothing of telling you
NO to your healthcare if you are old, disabled, or your "quality of life" seems a little too low to suit him.
Most people enter the medical field because they want to help people. Government and anti-life activists is making many of those people think twice, leave the field or never enter it to begin with. There is no worse thing to take away the ability to do your job, that is what is happening to pro-life health care professional every day. Image medicine as if it was just another government job. Not a good thing in any way. It will make the best stay away from medicine.
Late in his presidency, the Bush administration added a new rule giving the right of conscience back to medical professionals. It was unfortunate that it wasn't added much earlier in his presidency. The Obama administration will likely reverse this rule shortly. This seemingly small rule reversal could have far reaching consequences.

Under the guise of fixing healthcare and improving access to all , anti-life activists could ruin healthcare for everyone. Pro-life people need to oppose government healthcare and the lack of conscience as much as we oppose abortion. Nearly everyone will be one of these groups sometime in their lives. Nearly everyone gets old, is disabled at some point, has a chronic health problem, or has a family member that is. We cannot have an America without
Pro-Life Health Care Professionals.
We must save medicine from those that wish to change it so totally we wouldn't recognize it. We must stop the anti-life forces like Patty Murray and the Obama administration from making these bad choices for everybody. It will stop medical care from helping people to making them helpless.
Medicine is under more pressure then almost any other time in American history. We cannot give up on the best health care the world has ever seen.
