A Day At The Ballpark: Taxed By Taxes

I spent Sunday afternoon with my brothers, nephew, sister in law and her brother and a friend of his at the Cell.    A White Sox game that is, if you don't know that nickname for the Sox's home stadium.    If you look at the ticket,  it shows the taxes that you get to pay to go to the game.   9% city tax,  yes, NINE PERCENT.   Then another 3% county tax on top of that.    For a total of 12%,  TWELVE PERCENT!   Who knows what the state tax is,  it wasn't on the ticket.

Twelve Percent on an already expensive Major League Baseball ticket.   No wonder I don't go very much.    No wonder the White Sox have had problems filling the park in the past (it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore, better teams help).   How the CUBS fill Wrigley Field still is a mystery to me, crummy teams,  dumpy park, no parking, should be a ghost-town.    But I am going off topic here.

Chicago has become a very high tax zone.   It must be costing the area big opportunities.     They never consider the consequences of an anti-business attitude.    They have no clue,,,,,,,,,,,  and they think they can have the Olympics?
