Making yet another boneheaded move, Obama is quietly ending the training and arming of airline pilots.
Obama Wants to Disarm U.S. Pilots. Making the air safe again for terrorists is bad news for airline passengers as unarmed pilots cannot do anything to stop them. Islamic terrorist discovered that they don't even need bombs if they can use a large aircraft as one.
I just don't get how disarming private citizens makes things safer. If anything more guns in the hands of private citizens would prevent crime and terror if crooks and terrorists don't know if you are packing or not. Gun laws are meaningless for those out to commit crimes, outside of the fact they know you aren't carrying.
There hasn't been any issues with pilots carrying guns. Not one pilot has done anything with his or her gun to warrant the end of the program for that reason.
Liberals have claimed that many of the changes after 9-11 took away freedom. Making sure that law enforcement and the military are given the tools to hunt those that are our enemies are certainly not that. They are dead wrong on that issue. Taking away guns from trained users is the way that freedom will end. Banning the way that you can protect yourself and other is the way that freedom ends. This program should remain and be expanded, not ended.
America has many enemies. Liberals forget that at our peril.
