When many people pulled the level in the voting booth for Obama-Biden they were believing they were getting a new beginning in foreign relations. Obama tricked many into thinking that foreigners would like us more. (Its not like all foreigners hated us to begin with, but who cares about stuff like that).
That's not what's happening. There are countries out there like China that aren't going to like us much even though we are trading partners. They know that Obama is a weak leader so they are testing him to see how weak he really is.
Chinese Ships Harassed Unarmed Navy Craft in International Waters: This is one of those tests.
Say what you will about President Bush's foreign policies, but they didn't test him like they will test Obama. They knew Bush would push back. They had respect for him. They don't have any for Obama.
Respect is far more important then "liking". Who cares if they like us if they are pulling stuff like that. Obama will not respond to this incident in any meaningful way.
Case in point. That stupid "reset" button that wasn't. Only a Clinton would screw up something like that. (could they have asked Condi Rice to translate for them?, she must be rolling her eyes) How much respect do the Russians have for us now? Not a whole lot. Yes, we are reseting relations, only now we are in the position of weakness.
Wish there was something I liked about the new guy, but it sure isn't easy to find ANYTHING I like. Is it 2012 yet?
