Washington Post: The Trash Was Historic, Too

I guess I am not surprised to see a article like this.   The Trash Was Historic, Too.    The Park Service is cleaning up the National Mall after the Obamafest (formerly known as the inauguration).    There is way more trash then they probably were  expecting.   130 tons as of the writing of the article with more to be collected.

Quoted from the Washington Post:  "More than any Fourth of July, more than          any event we've seen," Park Service spokesman William Line said.

The Post noted that "The detritus included handwarmer packets, bottles, food, newspapers, blankets, gloves, coolers and a table or two, in addition to items bought from street vendors."

Also Quoted by the Post "They left behind Obama hats, Obama bags, Obama socks," said Mafara Hobson, spokeswoman for Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D). "People left behind a lot of trash. A lot of it was the vendors along the parade route, too."

"There was so much trash left behind. Piles and piles," Nancee Lyons, a Department of Public Works spokeswoman. "When all those people were there, you didn't realize how bad it was. But once they left, we saw the work ahead."
end quote.

Sigh,  the hypocrisy of the liberals know no bounds.    After proclaiming the Obama Inauguration the most green ever,  it merely turned the National Mall into a landfill.  The crowd had no respect for anything,  either the departing President Bush (they booed him) and they trashed the Mall with Obama junk.

The huge cost to the taxpayer of the Obama presidency has begun!
