I think this overused statement from the Obama campaign will someday haunt the Obama presidency. Republicans already ridicule this really grandiose sounding statement. It is also kind of a scary group think to say, like Obama is far more then a man and the presidency, almost god like. It is really ridiculous to think that Obama will bring any meaningful change, or even change we even want.
Will this statement haunt Obama someday like the first President Bush's statement "Read my lips, no new taxes". I think it will.
History will think little of this statement and the Obama Presidency. It will become a joke on late night TV. Jay Leno will get a lot of mileage out of this one. Jimmy Carters presidency started out with plenty of promises that couldn't be fulfilled. We know how well that worked out for him. Will Obama's be the same?
