Looks like Illinois may get in on gas tax relief too. It is long over due. Read about it
here. Here in Northwest Indiana near the border are the hugest gas stations you will ever see. Some of the stations have 48 pumps. Yes 48! (a typical station has 8-12) Why is that when Indiana gas taxes are high? Because Illinois gas taxes are even higher! (Cook County and the City of Chicago have even more taxes tacked on) Sometimes the saving are 30 cents a gallon! Plus folks buy their smokes here too, since the taxes are lower on that too.
I guess we will see if either Indiana or Illinois does anything about this. Neither governor seems to favor it so that's not good. I'm not holding my breath. I wish the media would spend half the time that they spend ripping on the oil companies ripping on the high gas taxes instead.
