There is a good
article about the resignation of John Bolton, the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. I would think that the one year in the U.N. was most likely enough for anybody with all the bull that goes on there. Bolton has been the only worthwhile ambassador in recent history.
I think that President Bush shouldn't bother with replacing Bolton. The U.N. is totally useless in its current form. I also believe that the U.S. shouldn't bother paying its dues either. The U.S. should send a message to the U.N. by not being there. Or paying its many bills either.
The president is not going to be able to put anyone that would be good in the post. He couldn't get Bolton the job permanently when he had a Republican congress, he has no chance with a Democrat one. So leave it vacant.
