Election Aftermath: What does it mean for the next two years? Issue 1, the Pro-Life Movement

Since we now know that the Senate has changed hands, the whole Congress is going to be Democrat controlled.   Maybe we will see some veto's from President Bush for a change, that is long overdue.  I wish he had used the veto more then that one time.   Maybe we wouldn't be in this mess we are in.

Progress on a lot of fronts will be slowed or stopped for the next two years.  The pro-life movement will suffer from a "pro-choice" Congress.   Do you think since Bob Casey from Pennsylvania is pro-life,  will the leadership of the Democrats let him do anything about it?  Not a chance!  His pro-life votes will be isolated and marginalized like his late father.  I can't figure out why he allowed himself to be used by the Democrats, after what they did to his dad.

What happens when a opening comes on the Supreme Court?  It will be a huge battle no matter whom the President puts up.  Good luck getting a great Conservative.   What if John Paul Stevens leaves the court (he is in his 80's)?  He is the most liberal member of the court.  We will not be able to get a conservative to replace him,  and end up with someone like former Judge Sandra Day O'Connor. We could end up with no progress on the Supreme Court during the Bush presidency.   We have only replaced one conservative with another, and gotten rid of a unreliable "moderate".   We cannot waste more time by replacing a liberal with a "moderate".   Since "moderates" seem to vote with liberals on important issues like abortion,  they may as well be called liberals.

The Supreme Court is the biggest roadblock to ending the horrid practice of abortion.   It has killed millions over the almost forty years (imagine had the Nazis lasted that long, its just as bad).  Pro-Life laws can be passed,  elections won (by big margins to boot) and it takes only 5 black robed liberal dimwits to put good stuff into dry-dock forever.  It is frightening that a few think that they know better then the rest of us.  Plus the check and balances of government are being destroyed by these people.

This is probably the worst part of a Democrat Congress.  I will write about other issues later.
